Meet the staff at Scotts Wright
Malcolm is a graduate of Jesus College, Cambridge (M.A. in History and Law), qualified following a traineeship with Dickinson, Miller and Turnbull (now Bond Dickinson) at their Newcastle Upon Tyne Office.
Has been a partner in Scotts Wright and its predecessor firms since 1972, and has held a Practising Certificate uninterruptedly for 46 years.

Ian C Scott
Ian studied Law at Nottingham University 1968 – 1971 and qualified in 1974.
Ian specialises in Conveyancing; Wills Trust and Probate and is a member of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners).
Richard has been with Scotts Wright since 1983.
He practises in Family Law, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution cases.
Steve qualified as a solicitor in 2006. He studied biology at the University of Manchester before undertaking his post graduate diploma in Law at Leeds Metropolitan University and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. Steve trained with Scotts Wright and has specialised in Property matters since then. He spent 5 years working with Leeds and Bradford firm Gordons LLP where he focused on Commercial Property work.
Steve has a depth of experience dealing with property matters including sales, lettings and purchases, Landlord and Tenant matters and development.
Kathryn graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2006 and following completion of her LPC at the College of Law Chester came to Scotts Wright as a Trainee in 2007.
Kathryn completed her traineeship in 2009 and has been working as a Solicitor with the firm ever since.
Conveyancing, Probate, Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney
Jill has specialised in family, children and matrimonial law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 1993.
Jill completed her Law Degree at Manchester Polytechnic and thereafter practised as a family lawyer in the North West of England. She arrived in the Yorkshire Dales and at Scotts Wright in 2011, via a short stint in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Jill is a member of Resolution, the Association of Family Lawyers, and is the Firm’s point of contact for Forces Law.
Following completion of her LPC at the College of Law in York, Lydia initially came to the firm in 2011 as a legal assistant. She was subsequently offered a training contract and since becoming fully qualified, has worked within our conveyancing and private client departments.

John has been with Scotts Wright since June 2016. He graduated Teesside University in 2014 with a 2:1 degree in Law. He has recently started the Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University and will be commencing a training contract shortly. He is currently assisting with Residential conveyancing and property matters.
